The snow is flying. Well, at least the cotton!

One of my least favorite weeks of the year.  The week when just standing outside makes your eyes and throat hurt from all the cotton flying in the air.  And everything is covered in a fine white blanket of cotton.  Luckily just before everything started looking like Christmas, I got some good pictures of the gardens.  Hopefully in the next few days I can get out there and start picking up all the cotton before it turns into a million little cottonwood trees that I'll need to pull out.

The cotton tumbleweeds so far
I finally got mulch down on new flowerbeds

I can't wait until there is a ton of color in this bed

The little princess spirea is starting to bloom, yey

The May Night Salvia is looking awesome

All the low walker catmint is taking off, woohoo

The cat's meow catmint still looks great

First zinnia of the season

Getting a few flowers on the butterfly bush.  These look like they'll burst open soon

All my cherry tomatoes broke off some with help) so now my basket is just basil and nasturtiums

Raspberry flowers and berries are starting to form

I love these nasturtium leaves.  One is about to bloom a beautiful orange flower
Sunfire Coreopsis is now all over the yard because I grew so many seeds.  These are the only flowers at the moment though.  My yard may not have enough light, but I'll wait until next year to see what comes up then

Hopefully all the coneflowers will start budding soon

The bleeding heart keeps looking better and better

Despite the fact that this garden has horrible soil, some of the plants do rather well over here

I lost a lot of the milkweed I grew inside from seed this year, but I have a number of volunteer plants growing at the moment (about 5).  I also have a bunch more seeds in the fridge that I may try planting out again to get this milkweed colony going
