Cotton, Cotton Everywhere!

I really have to work on getting more spring blooming flowers.  I would love to have more flowers blooming at this time.  I have a lot of buds and a few flowers, but there are definitely bare spots in the gardens that need flowers in order to keep the weeds at bay.  I spent hours today pulling weeds and there are still many more to go.
I did a ton of weeding today and then hosed down the sidewalk.  Looks like I need to paint the screened basement entrance

The catmint has gotten huge.

While pulling weeds, I disrupted the huge ant hill that is in the front of my large flower bed.  When I came back out a little while later, the ants were hard at work rebuilding their hill in a different flower bed.  I hope they don't end up killing a bunch of plants like they did in the other bed!

I spent a looooong time pulling weeds in this bed.  I'm sure I'll need to pull weeds a lot more this year to get this bed under control again, but every inch of this was covered in weeds so this isn't bad!

I had  been worrying that the milkweed wouldn't come back, but it's now everywhere.  I'm thinking of moving a few plants to leave more room for the milkweed in this corner.  Bring back the monarchs!

The wild geranium in the front yard has already finished blooming, but this one in the backyard looks like it's still going strong.

getting a lot of pears

I finally got the deck all cleaned off from winter and spring.  The plum tree makes quite a mess on the deck so I always wait until all the flowers drop before cleaning the deck.

I'm waiting for this bed to take off, it needs more early season flowers for sure!

This hosta has gotten huge.  I knew it was supposed to be large, but this is massive

The spirea is starting to bloom.
