I'm Back!

I've had some time away from the garden blog and for good reason; I had a baby!
It's pretty hard to garden when you feel horribly morning sick all the time and have no energy.  Anyway...I think the garden survived and I bought a few new plants to add to the ranks.  I can't get out to garden as often as I would like since this little princess wants to be held all the time, so as long as everything stays watered and the weeds don't take over, I think I can hobble through until next year.
I planted 3 azalea's two years ago.  Then we had a really hard winter that reeked destruction all over the Chicagoland area.  I had two survive and one even started blooming this spring!  I moved the other survivor to the backyard in the hopes that it will grow better there.  I'm glad to see this one flower.
The flowering azalea

I planted this bleeding heart last spring after getting it at the Chicago Garden Show.  I'm really surprised it looks so great in it's first spring.

I have so many gardening supplies now that I had to buy a home for them.  Hopefully I don't outgrow this.
Wild Geranium

I planted two wild geraniums last year.  One in the front yard and one in the back.  They are both looking so good that I bought two more this year.

I got these ferns at a garage sale.  I planted one and now have four.  I planted them under the pine tree where everything dies, so I'm glad to see the fern not only surviving, but thriving.

I put some weed barrier down behind the veggie box to keep the weeds at bay.  I hope it works.
The new front bed looks great, but I think I need to add some bulbs for next year.

The yard always looks great in spring.  The clover has really taken over this year so the yard just might look great throughout the summer.
