I always get excited at this time of year with all the flowers starting to grow and getting ready to bloom. Some plants like the catmint, salvia, and columbine have been in bloom for a couple weeks now, but other plants are just starting to show their buds. In fact, the little princess spirea just started blooming this morning! Here's what's going on in the yard this week (June 10, 2013):
| Raspberries are starting to form and there will be a lot them this year! |
| Baby pears on the tree. I'm sure the squirrels are excited |
| Spiderwort is not showing any buds yet, but it's getting big |
| Can't wait for the milkweed to bloom, I love milkweed. The Butterfly weed is much smaller so I hope it blooms too. |
| Littly Henry is looking nice |
| The two new blanket flowers look like they could bloom soon |
| Most of the columbine are done blooming, I hope I get a lot of seeds so it will spread more!! |
| Roses just opened up this week |
| This columbine seem to be blooming later than the other columbine, perhaps it's the type or the light, I don't know |
| The butterfly weed I bought at the LCFP sale is coming in! It should bloom soon |
| As always the Walker's low catmint takes over the place. I love the bees it attracts, but I need to balance out this bed better. With the salvia just behind it, there is no color on the left and two purple, early bloomers on the right |
| Hiding Gnome. He's tucked into the white cone flowers |
| White coneflower |
| Little Princess spirea is starting to bloom this week in the front yard :-) |
| The hostas are looking awesome finally after 3 years |
